Tipping is voluntary, but it is a normal part of safari culture. The right amount depends on group size, trip length, service level and whether you are on safari, Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar or a mixed itinerary.

Private Safari Guides
Safari guides are usually tipped per vehicle per day, with the amount adjusted by group size and service quality.
Lodge and Camp Teams
Many camps use a shared staff tip box for housekeepers, waiters, cooks and behind-the-scenes team members.
Kilimanjaro Crews
Mountain tips are usually shared between lead guides, assistant guides, cooks and porters according to crew role and climb length.
Before You Confirm Dates
Carry small notes in clean condition.
Give tips at the end of each service period.
Do not feel pressured by anyone outside your confirmed team.
