Rubondo Island National Park is located in the southwestern corner of Lake Victoria, the largest freshwater lake in Africa. The park encompasses the entirety of Rubondo Island, which covers an area of 237 square kilometers, making it the largest island national park in Africa. The park is situated approximately 150 kilometers west of the town of Musoma, in the Geita Region of northwestern Tanzania.
